Beef & Noodles
1 Recipe Homemade Egg Noodles
1 Pot Roast Simmered Until Tender
Brown Pot Roast on both sides in bacon grease or oil. Keep on stove top in large cooking pot or transfer to simmer in Crock Pot all day- add 1 Cup water -adding a little water while cooking, just to keep broth going. Simmer until tender and easy to pull apart with a fork.
Beef Bullion – 1 Cube – stir in 1 Cup water till dissolved.
Add Beef Broth- bring to boil and add enough liquid to just cover all when noodles are added.
Season to taste with the following:
Salt – 1-1 1/2 tsp. or to taste
Pepper- 1/4 tsp or to taste
Thyme – 1/4 tsp.
Paprika – 1/2 tsp.
Old Bay Seasoning – A couple of dashes or to taste.
Combine all above ingredients and simmer together till noodles are tender. (Approximately 20 minutes to 30 minutes depending on how thick you roll out the noodles.)
Cornstarch for thickening if needed. For thicker broth, after simmering noodles till tender, add 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch to 1/4 Cup of cold water. Stir till all lumps gone, add to boiling liquid. Stir constantly till thick.
Makes enough for about 6 – 8 servings. Server with a veggie side and rolls.
